A Time Turner is a special timepiece in which an Hour-Reversal Charm has been encased, for added stability. It is a device used for time travel, and it resembles an hourglass on a necklace. Hermione Granger is given one by Professor McGonagall in her Third Year, which allows her to attend all her classes. Hermione and Harry also used the Time Turner at the end of their Third Year to save Buckbeak the Hippogriff, as well as Sirius Black.
